It’s always an adrenalin high to be at NRF in New York in January, but the 2019 edition really did blow me away! One of the hottest topics of conversation was the use of AI to impact business results for retailers, and conversations at our booth, with prospects, media and analysts, returned again and again to how AI in price and promotion optimization, has been delivering results for Revionics customers for more than a decade – and our machine learning capabilities means that we just get smarter and stronger as our algorithms inhale new data, signals and results in the real world.
The Revionics booth this year fit right in with New York City, and as Simone Knapp at RIS News noted, the lights were bright enough to rival Times Square!
It was abuzz with conversations with innovative retailers from all over the world looking for ways to transform their business, better engage customers, and deliver a stronger bottom line. That’s what we’re all about!
Then there were the two amazing Big Ideas Panels with fast-paced and insightful dialog between our customers and leading industry analysts, moderated by our Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Cheryl Sullivan.
On Monday, Cheryl hosted our guest panelists Forrester VP and Principal Analyst Brendan Witcher, Constellation Research Founder and Chairman R “Ray” Wang, and Family Dollar VP of Merchandising Services Apollo Whited talking about “Operationalizing AI In Pricing: Retailers Can’t Afford to Miss Shopper Signals.” This fun and very actionable discussion explored how retailers incorporate AI and machine learning into their pricing and promotional strategies to deliver measurable ROI at every phase of adoption, responding to shopper signals to drive enhanced loyalty and craft relevant prices that engage customers while preserving margins.
On Tuesday the house was packed for our other hard-hitting panel, “I, Retail: AI, Machine Learning and Other Massive Price and Promotion Game-Changers” featuring Ray Wang, Cheryl, and Drogaria Araujo Competitive Intelligence Manager Leo Lage representing the beloved Brazilian drugstore chain. The room was packed to the gills and a surge of retailers – including many Brazilian companies – blanketed the Revionics booth afterward to continue the productive conversations.
And finally, retailers deserve the opportunity to relax and let off a little steam in the midst of all the NRF madness. If I may say so myself, the iconic Revionics Monday night retail VIP event is pretty legendary for being truly awesome, and this year’s casino-themed cruise along the New York skyline was a definite highlight! The casino tables were packed, the appetizers and dinner were delicious, and the DJ mixing tunes had many folks dancing and bopping along.
Even though we are fresh off NRF 2019, the 2020 event will be here before we know it – hope to see you there!
