Navigating the AI Pricing Landscape: Highlights from New Analyst Reports

Leading analyst firms have published new research that sheds light on the AI price optimization landscape. These reports offer retailers a better understanding of how the market is defined, the solutions currently available, and the key factors to consider when evaluating potential pricing partners.

Here is a closer look at these recent reports and how Revionics was recognized in each.

Revionics recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Competitive Landscape: Retail Unified Price, Promotion, and Markdown Optimization Solutions

“Gartner defines the unified price, promotion, and markdown optimization (UPPMO) market as comprising applications that use predictive analytics, algorithms, and optimization capabilities to fully plan and manage pricing for both long and short life cycle products.”

In the report, analyst Jonathan Kutner notes that UPPMO vendors are increasingly aligning their solutions with the life cycle characteristics of the products their clients sell. As Gartner notes that “for long life cycle items — such as electronics, hard goods, and FMCG — retailers require stable pricing, margin control, and long-term planning capabilities.”

Revionics was recognized as a "long life cycle leader" for our specialization in this area. According to the report, "Life cycle specialization is no longer a niche — it’s a competitive imperative.”

Gartner also explored the emergence of agentic AI assistants embedded within retail pricing platforms. According to the report, “these assistants support:

  • Automation of pricing and promotion workflows.
  • Simulation of pricing scenarios.
  • Explainable recommendations via conversational interfaces.”

Following our launch of a multi-agent AI pricing system, Revionics agrees that these assistants reduce manual effort, accelerate decision speed, and evolve pricing to a more strategic capability.
